In the development of the Tanzania Health Information Management (HIM) project, SoftMed collaborated closely with the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) and HealthHub (HH). Our partnership was built on a foundation of technical expertise and a commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery through technology.
Our role involved managing all technical operations, which included engaging with government officials to prioritize and define critical use cases that would maximize the impact of our project. We undertook the lead in design activities, ensuring that every element was meticulously planned and executed with an unwavering focus on quality and adherence to established timelines.
Throughout the project, we skillfully managed the software development life cycle, overseeing every phase from requirements gathering and design to rigorous testing and final implementation. Our approach was rooted in maintaining compliance with industry standards and ensuring that all outputs met the highest quality benchmarks.
Achievements
As a result of our dedicated efforts, we achieved the significant milestone of implementing a fully functional interoperability layer. This essential component now facilitates the seamless exchange of health information between disparate systems, thereby enhancing data sharing and collaboration across the healthcare landscape in Tanzania. The successful deployment of this layer is set to improve patient care and streamline health information management nationwide.
